Cancun fly fishing tour to the tarpon capital of the world
Embark on a memorable all-inclusive day trip to the Tarpon Capital of the World. Just the best Cancun Fly Fishing Tour, designed for passionate anglers who want to make the most of their trip in Cancun.
Starting the tour from your hotel lobby, we bring you on a private A/C van to try your casting skills in a Protected National Park located in a small fishing village in the North of Yucatan Peninsula with only 2000 habitants, known as The Tarpon Capital of The World. This means, no tourists, no people, and no noise. Only you and your guide on the boat, the dream of every angler. Juvenile tarpon all year long, sharing environment with the silver king, corvina, permit, snook and more!
Experience fishing as never before with our signature split-day fishing. Sunrise session, we take care of lunch, and you get a hotel room to shower, take a nap and to prepare the next flies for the sunset session.
Not visiting us is like going to Egypt and not seeing the pyramids in an angler’s version. We are the Everest for the anglers.

Boats and equipment
We take care of all the fishing equipment, however this is what we use.
For all operations, Tarpon Cay uses 18-foot pangas. For the juvenile tarpon fishery, 8 to 9-weight rods with floating lines are ideal. There are shots in a foot of shallow water. The key is to use tiny 1/0 wet flies and gurglers. For the shallow water in the lagoons, 40 to 50-pound mono leads are better than fluorocarbon because of their slower sink rate. The larger migratory tarpon will need 2/0 flies with 60- to 80-pound fluoro and rods weighing 10 to 11 pounds with an intermediate sinking line.
